Fulton Tower, near Bedrule

Description: Lying between Jedburgh and Hawick, these are the remains of a 16th century tower house. It was held by Margaret Home of Cowdenknowes prior to her wedding to William Turnbull of Bedrule. It is recorded as one of the towers destroyed by the Earl of Hertford during his raids which devastated the Borders in 1545.
Around the house are the turf-covered remains of the houses and outbuildings associated with the stronghold.

Private – may be viewed from the road. No access.

How to get there:
By car: Off the B6357, Jedburgh to Bonchester Bridge road, along the side road signposted Bedrule which leaves the 'main' road near Easter Fodderlea.
By public transport: N/A
