Description: On Holy Island, this castle was built to protect the area against all comers. Converted into a baronial style home in 1903, by Sir Edwin Lutyens it now has a beautiful interior of antique Flemish and English furniture, porcelain and brass.

How to get there: Safe crossing times. By car: Turn left, off the A1 south of Berwick upon Tweed, along the road signposted Beal and Holy Island. Car parks on the island. By public transport: Regular bus service from Berwick upon Tweed

Opening Hours: As Lindisfarne is a tidal island, times vary so that visitors may reach the island at low tide – the castle is open for just over 4 hrs and always 12noon to 3pm.
Facilities: Parking is about 1 mile from the Castle. No toilets on site.
Admission: Adult £5.20, child £2.60, family (2 adults & accompanying children under 18) £13. Garden only: £1, child free. Guided group visits (10+) outside normal hours £6, NT members £4
