Description: A 26 turbine wind farm, each tower being 40metres/131feet high at the western end of the Lammermuir Hills. Nine turbines lie to the East of the A68, the others to the West.

How to get there: By car: On the A68, Edinburgh to Newcastle Road, 20 miles south of Edinburgh. By public transport: All buses going up the A68 from Kelso, Lauder, Jedburgh etc heading for Pathhead, Dalkeith and Edinburgh pass between the two groups of turbines. There is no access to the actual site.

Additional info: The blades carve out a circle of 47metres/154 feet, and each turbine produces 660 kilowatts of power, giving the site a total of 17.16 megawatts. For safety, the turbine blades feather when the wind speed reaches 55 mph. They will produce power with a wind speed as low as 9 miles per hour.
